Legislative Update – Representative James Kelcourse
A message from MA State Representative James Kelcourse
The beautiful weather is finally here and our office hopes that everyone is enjoying it. I want to take this opportunity to provide a very brief overview of some of the recent initiatives I’ve been working on to assist the residents of Salisbury.
Our office regularly meets with other elected officials from Salisbury. As a result of our ongoing, positive relations with Town officials, we learned that Salisbury needed funding for the Salisbury Police Department’s body worn camera program, and were happy to advocate on behalf of the police department for the inclusion of $15,000 in the FY23 House budget to support the program. We also secured an additional $20,000 in the House budget for the Hilton Senior Center for emergency assistance, food insecurity and program support. Additionally, we are continuing our work with the welcome center so beach goers can enjoy new bathroom facilities this summer and are always making sure the Town of Salisbury stays a wonderful and safe place to live.
Should you or anyone you know have questions regarding the budget process, legislation or need any help, please feel free to call or email our office anytime. Zoe Fitzgerald is my legislative aide and she can be contacted via email at Zoe.Fitzgerald@MAhouse.gov
Sincerely, James Kelcourse, State Representative, 1st Essex District
