New
destination-attraction signs will be installed on Interstate
95 to promote Salisbury Beach and guide tourists to the beach
area.
State
Senator Steven A. Baddour and Michael A. Costello secured an
economic development earmark to pay for the promotional
campaign. The two new signs will be erected on the northbound
and southbound lanes of Interstate 95 at Exit 58.
“For many
years, families across New England have held the tradition of
summertime trips to Salisbury Beach,” said Rep. Costello.
“These signs will ensure that people continue to visit and
support our beautiful beach, especially as it undergoes a
rebirth.”
“Tourism
is central to Salisbury's economy, and I applaud the Salisbury
Chamber of Commerce's hard work in shepherding this project,”
said Sen. Baddour. “I also want to thank MassHighway for
partnering with us on this project to draw tourists to the
beach resort area.”
“With all
the changes at Salisbury Beach, the one constant is the ocean
so we wanted to promote the beach,” said Maria Miles,
president of the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce. “This would
not have been possible without the help of Representative
Costello and Senator Baddour.”

coordinate the installation of the signs. |
